Jamaican Jerk Chicken

A mixture of quintessential Jamaican ingredients makes for one complex and delicious marinade. Jerk-Style cooking is the hero of Jamaican cuisine, with historic roots going as far back as the 1600s. With the years of perfecting, this dish is full of smoky flavour and perfectly balanced with piquant spices. For a truly traditional meal, serve with beans and rice!
How to use
You Will Need:
- 600g Chicken Pieces
- 2 Cups Cooked Rice
In The Pack:
- Jamaican Jerk Sauce
- Ginger & Garlic Paste
- Jamaican Jerk Spice Rub
Cooking Suggestions:
COAT: Mix Jamaican Jerk Spice Rub through chicken and set aside.
SEAR: Lightly stir-fry Ginger & Garlic Paste in a hot and well-oiled saucepan for 1 minute. Add chicken and stir-fry for a further 3 minutes or until sealed on all sides.
SIMMER: Add Jamaican Jerk Sauce to pan and stir. Reduce heat to low, cover pan with lid and simmer until meat is fully cooked (approx. 20 minutes). Serve immediately with rice and your choice of salad.
To create Jamaican Jerk BBQ, mix all ingredients together and rub onto a whole chicken (or chicken pieces). Marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight) in fridge. Grill or barbeque until well cooked.
